MayDuring the past month, it occurred to me that instead of just writing about all kinds of different things, I should pick a single topic for each batch and spend most of my writing effort on that one topic. On second thought, though, I decided that writing about all kinds of different things is part of the fun.If there were a single topic for this batch, it would have to be either driving or law; my favorite essay, No Speed Limits, combines both. There are two other essays I'd like to point out: Telemarketing, because it contains an idea I want to promote, and Association, because it's an excellent example of what I intended the category The Mind to be about. I also made a radical technical improvement to the site: it now contains not only text but also graphics. Pretty high-tech, huh? The figures make me happy, so I will include a list of them here; maybe later I will add an index of figures, such as one sees in some technical books.
What Is Law? That last figure, you may notice, replaces the piece of ASCII art I'd been using. I hope you'll agree this change doesn't break my rule about persistence of content.
