MarchBased on the essays released in this, the first batch, it may appear that this site is almost completely self-referential in character, like the hypothetical book Reviews of This Book. This appearance is largely correct: by my count, almost half the completed essays in this batch fall under the category About This Site, and many of the remainder are related in one way or another.However, this self-referential character should not be taken to be a permanent feature of this site; it is simply a result of the fact that in any self-referential system, it is convenient to implement the kernel first. At this point, of the other categories, the only ones that have even the beginnings of depth are Memes, Art, and Philosophy.
