I took inventory of everything I've read by my two favorite authors. (I did the same thing for Lem a long time ago.)

Usually when I say “favorite author” it's just a vague statement of approval, but here it has a very specific meaning. When I see a new book by Egan or Wolfe, I often just buy it on the spot, in hardback, without doing more than looking at the cover. I have never done that for any other author except Hofstadter. In fact, I almost never buy other fiction in hardback, period.

I wrote two random short essays.
