AprilWhen I spoke, last time, of having “at least twice as many more” essays on numbers, I had no idea I'd be writing that many in the next month … but that's how it turned out. I wrote six last time, and twelve this time, and there are six more on my list, although I don't expect I'll be working on them any time soon. The essay Fractions in Base N and its subessays account for a full six of the twelve. It's funny how that happens sometimes … I start with what I think are notes for a single essay, but then when I sit down to write it, it just grows and grows, and spawns subessays left and right. I'm very pleased with all the essays, but these two are my favorites.
Powers of N The first one, by the way, is what I originally set out to write. So, you could say it's an essay that really grew and grew.
